Delhi University win KIIT Premier League

Delhi University won the 4th KIIT Premier League (KPL) All-India Inter-University T-20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Utkal University in the final by six wickets at KIIT University campus here today. Electing to bat, Utkal were all out for 110 in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi overhauled the target in 19.2 overs, losing four wickets in the process.

Champions Delhi pocketed the top prize of Rs 1 lakh, runners-up Utkal received Rs 50,000, while the losing semifinalists were given Rs 10,000 each. Rahul Trivedi (Delh) was adjudged both the man of the final match and the man of the tournament. Prizes for best batsman, bowler, fielder and wicket-keeper of the tournament went to S Kranti Kumar (Andhra), Anand Sahoo (Utkal), Soumya Ranjan Mohanty (KIIT) and Salim Ansari (Delhi) respectively. India left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha gave away the trophy and prizes in the closing function.
